Lyan is the second child of Eldor and Lìrulin, and the younger brother of Tara-lin by about twenty years. He is a happy, playful child, who enjoys playing with his parents, and whose greatest problem with his older sister is that she became too busy to play with him very often, and sometimes he would not play with her – or even see her – for weeks at a time.

Lyan was given the opportunity to bond to a drake-lizard, when someone Tara-lin knew found two eggs. Since then he and his orange-tangerine drake-lizard, Shobura, have been great friends and companions.

Lyan is a minor character in the second Legend of the Singer book, Sorceress of the Dryads.
