Hello!
I’m going to start by sharing what I completely forgot in last months updates: I told people that I was planning to release Wings of Healing, a Kaarathlon Novel, around this time of year. That is not happening. I decided the Kaarathlon Novels need to be re-titled and need new covers, since the current ones are neither genre-appropriate nor what I would like. They were a compromise – as in, all I could get together at that point – that I made because I needed to get started publishing. And it may not have been the wisest decision, but sometimes you have to start the journey with what you’ve got, because otherwise you’ll never start.
So, I’m not sure how long things are going to take on this end. Hopefully, next month I have more of an idea for you!
On the other major side of things:
I published an illustrated omnibus edition of my first trilogy, Return of the Dragonriders, and do you know what? It hit #1 New Release in YA and Teen Literary Fiction on Amazon. That’s a pretty small category, but it was still kind of cool. There’s also an art raffle associated with it! You can check out more details here. And: yes, it is currently available in both ebook and paperback formats.
By the way, this is a perfect time to start it! Late Summer-Early Fall is the time of year that things really get broken up and moving in Silmavalien’s life, so it’s kind of a cool coincidence that I got it in my head to make an illustrated edition and was ready to release it about this time, isn’t it? And if you just want to check it out without wading through my Launch-and-Art-Raffle page, Get Return of the Dragonriders Now!
And then – I really did not get a lot of writing done this last month, since first I was so busy with my illustrated omnibus, and then I injured my wrist. But my wrist is mostly better now, so I’m working on a short story I want to submit to an anthology, and of course lots of all things! I haven’t added that short story to the list, but you can see my current progress on the WIPs Page.
I’ve had a bit of a reading slump over the Summer, as well. I expect that is over, as I have definitely started reading again!
See you all next month, see you in my worlds if you ever like to visit, and if you have anything you want to share, leave a comment! Or if you have a favourite-most interested of the Works-In-Progress, you can let me know in that page’s comments (I think I have them enabled).
Sorry for the late post, but I forgot to write this up and get it scheduled earlier in the week – there have, of course, been only two days of September before this, so that might explain it!
