November “Updates” After A Very Long Time

Hello again everyone!

Firstly, I am sort of back (maybe), but only sort of – enough I’ll be doing a little bit of promotion for sales now and then. (My apologies to the Narratess sale; sadly I had trouble with my internet at the time and was barely able to promote it.)

I am sorry for the long, long delay between posts of any sort. I kept on intending to get the third book of the Dragon-Mage series published this Summer. It’s written, so if I really sat myself down to do it, I could get it out there. It might be possible to persuade me to do it.

But before you try, you should know it might be a very long time before I can finish and publish the fourth and final book. Something has happened in my life – mostly good stuff, but not something I’m ready to talk about. But it’s big enough to make me really have to take a step back and think about and process a lot of things all over again. I can’t write in the middle of that process, though I’m sure when I do feel the need to write again, my stories will be better than ever.

I have a really strong feeling I have to wait for this process to finish if I want Dragon-Mage Book Four to be all that it can be. So I’m not going to rush that story, even though I know it almost well enough I could.

I’m also not able to read and write reviews the way I could at the moment. Sometime, I’ll try to take some time to write reviews for the rather long list of books I’ve read but had not got to reviewing when this started happening. But they probably won’t be like the reviews my readers are used to.

IF you don’t care how long it takes me to writing a review, or even to read, I’m not entirely closed to cozy, fluffy, wholesome fantasy – but please, as little politics or real-world-like religion as possible. I never thought I’d say “no politics,” because the fact of the matter is, I don’t think it’s possible for a book not to have political meaning. Even things we don’t notice as being political often are – you just don’t notice them very well if they’re commonplace and assumed in your world. But nothing dark, or disturbing, or dealing with war and bloodshed (unless you’re one of a VERY FEW authors, I will be very unhappy about being offered this – those few authors, you know who you are, and I’ll probably still say no, but you’re welcome to ask). Also, be aware, I’ll DNF a lot in my current mood.

I kind of regret this, since it was really fun running the review blog. But life moves on its path, and I don’t at all regret the growth in my life!

Anyway, I wish you all the best! I hope you can enjoy Dragon-Mage even though my expectations of finishing the series and getting it out to you are not met. I apologize for setting those expectations – this has been a very big surprise to me. But if you haven’t started Dragon-Mage and you don’t like to be left hanging in the middle of a series – don’t start it now. You can still read my other books, and I would appreciate that. Return of the Dragonriders is a complete trilogy, Legend of the Singer is a complete duology, the Epoch of the Promise novels are enhanced by each other but do not need any unwritten stories (there are also different reasons to read them in any possible order). Gryphons’ Escape, Kindred of the Sea, and The Gifts of Faeri are standalone.

PS. You also might be able to persuade me to publish A Bond Unvowed, the elf-human love story / fantasy adventure of Lìrulin and Eldor (those are the parents of Tara-lin from Legend of the Singer), as I’ve got that one written and it is standalone. So if you want Raina’s attempt at a love-at-first-laugh friendship-based-romance between a man and woman who rescue and protect each other, then I might be able to pull together the time to get that one ready and published.

PSS. DragonBirth will be 99cents for a Black Friday / CyberMonday sale. It may appear in various sales.

Sorry to hear that. It’s totally understandable. Real life should always come first. Good luck with everything. I’d love to read ‘A Bond Unvowed‘ when you decided to publish it.
