Saturday Art Cover Reveal: New Cover for Revised DRAGONWING

Hello everyone!

This month ends with another Saturday Art, featuring another Cover Reveal, once again by the talented Midnight Rose, and this time for book two in the Return of the Dragonriders Trilogy, DragonWing. (You can see DragonBirth’s cover here.)

I did, in fact, follow through on having the revised DragonWing ready by November, even if only barely.

So …

HERE IS THE GORGEOUS NEW COVER!

Cover for DragonWing, Return of the Dragonriders Book Two, by Raina Nightingale. Art by Midnight Rose. A white dragon with wings outspread soars across the page, looking away from you and to the right. On his shoulders is a rider with dark hair and a furred cloak. Below him and more distant is a sparkling scaled gold dragon with white wings. A few pine trees grace the bottom of the picture with their tops. An evening sky with pink clouds opens beyond.Skies (how appropriate to this picture!) I always love Midnight’s art! I love the sky colors so much, and Minth (the white dragon) is so cute! (Actually, both the dragons are cute.) And he looks just right!

Here’s the back cover description:

An ancient war to which the fates of nations are nothing is waged around them.

Whether they ignore it or not, their souls are at stake, and their choices will shape their fate.

After nearly starving underground, Silmavalien has found a safe place for herself and her dragons to grow in peace. The weather is temperate, and the dragons are finally able to hunt for themselves. But the nightmare is coming for her, and the battle against fear is not one she’s sure she even wants to win.

Far away, Noren’s dragon has hatched, and he finally knows why Silmavalien left him, but he can’t understand why she did not trust him. Still, he tries to find her and struggles to hide Elninya, his growing dragon, from those who would kill her. But his fear could turn him into the monster he fears, and his real enemy isn’t the humans who would burn him alive if they knew about Elninya.

This new version of DragonWing also contains 17 by-the-author illustrations! (It’s a bit longer than DragonBirth, so I thought 2 more illustrations was fine.) They are full-color in the ebook, and they will be grayscale in the paperback, though that isn’t available just yet.

And DragonBirth is still 99cents all the way through November, so this would still be a great time to get into the series if you haven’t yet. And both books are available from pretty much every major retailer, for your convenience!
