Hello! I am sharing another bit of concept art I did for one of the creatures or beings in my Areaer world. Here’s my imagination of what a Storm Spirit might sometimes appear like.
There’s a long and complicated story around the Thirteen Spirits of the Storm, and I’m not going to share it all right now, because some of it is … well, I haven’t even written some of the books yet myself! So I would prefer to leave you to discover it with my characters!
But, their Guardian is Zharda, and the sacred place on Areaer that they are most tied to is the Crater of Storms in the Plains of Zharda. What most people do not know, is that they once played a fair more active role in the world than they do now, though either their echoes, or lesser spirits, may often be felt in the storms and winds. Occasionally, through the intervention of their Ellen Guardian, they will form a bond with a human, granting that human – the Storm Chosen – some of their powers to intervene in the world.
I am currently having a lot of fun writing what I call my Storm Project, about Moon, way back in what is to the Dragon-Mage series and Heart of Fire very, very ancient history, though I think it might be around the same time as The Gifts of Faeri, my Return of the Dragonriders prequel. I just got to the part in the Storm Project where Moon finally escapes his captors, and there’s just so much joy writing some of those chapters …
So I figured I’d share with you a bit about the Storm Spirits that are going to appear sometime in the books about Moon.
